MOSAIQ - MObility and urban climate in the quarter of the future

What happens in the project?
In the MOSAIQ project, we are researching what future sustainable mobility could look like in two as yet undefined districts in Munich. We are working with residents to test new mobility ideas such as flexible space management in school areas, parking concepts and greening campaigns. It is important to involve citizens through competitions and initiatives as well as training sessions for dialog. We also initiate changes in the city administration in order to implement ideas more quickly and practically and to apply them outside of Munich.

What problem does MOSAIQ solve?
MOSAIQ aims to work closely with citizens to make public spaces diverse and accessible. As part of the project, various mobility solutions are being developed to help people move around the city more easily and in a more environmentally friendly way. An important part of the project is the creation and expansion of green spaces, including the planting of trees and the greening of building facades. In addition, areas for cultural activities, playgrounds and pleasant lounges will be created. Through these measures, we are making a significant contribution to the ecological, socially balanced and liveable design of urban neighborhoods.

Who is affected?
The concept of a liveable future in the neighborhood affects us all - the citizens, the city administration, politicians and the industry. In MOSAIQ, we look at these different perspectives to find familiar and new solutions for real, sustainable innovations in the neighborhoods of the future.
