Participatory development

Participatory development refers to an approach or process in which different stakeholders are actively involved in decisions and planning that affect their community. This approach aims to promote the participation and co-determination of those affected in order to develop solutions that have broad agreement and support. Participatory development promotes transparency, strengthens social ties and enables communities to better consider and implement their own needs and priorities.
