EPURA

Evaluation, processes, upscaling, replication & application

What are we doing?

Our contribution to the overall MCube strategy

Our project deals with evaluation, process evaluation, upscaling, replication and application of the project processes and results. In this way, utilization and exploitation strategies can be created for the metropolitan region and can also be applied outside the cluster. EPURA acts as an accompanying monitoring of the overall MCube strategy, improves internal processes and promotes new implementation projects.

With EPURA, we ensure that MCube not only has an impact locally, but also far beyond regional borders - and even beyond the limits of existing funding. 🚀

How do we do it?

The EPURA process: evaluation and utilization in MCube

Our EPURA process ensures that the findings from MCube are used effectively and developed further. It consists of four central areas:

  • EvaluationThe impact of the projects is measured with the help of indicators.
  • Process evaluation: Through process evaluation, we identify risks, barriers and drivers of MCube projects and derive lessons learned.
  • UpscalingWe estimate what effects a project could achieve if it is thought beyond the experimental status.
  • Replication PackagesGained insights are prepared for stakeholders within and outside the metropolitan region so that practice is inspired and benefits from the lessons learned in the cluster.
  • ApplicationThe knowledge gained is processed in order to put it into practice. We accompany all MCube project plans and act accordingly in the individual real laboratories or advise municipalities in the Munich metropolitan region.

From evaluation to application: The strategic process behind MCube

Evaluation

In this process step, the impact evaluation is implemented. We build on the findings from MCube Phase 1. The objectives are to update the MCube Indicators GuidesThe creation of specific evaluation plans for innovation projects, regular evaluation check-ins and the development and collection of a Output indicator sets. Finally, the results are presented to the MCube consortium.

Process evaluation

In this process step, the process evaluation is continued. Lessons learned from MCube phase 1 are systematically transferred to phase 2. Over the entire duration of the project, a detailed process evaluation and a digital knowledge basewhich documents and communicates key findings in a sustainable manner.

Upscaling

A practical tool for upscaling studies of MCube innovations is being developed here. Innovation projects will receive guidance on how to use this tool in order to assess the impact of a broader application of their solutions on the MCube dimensions Space, time and air quality to evaluate.

Replication

In this process step "Replication Guides"that support municipalities and other stakeholders in making the best possible use of the findings from MCube. They offer both inspiration and concrete instructions for implementing successful approaches.

Application

Here we ensure the transfer of knowledge into practice - in the areas of Entrepreneurship, implementation and education. The aim is to achieve long-term social and economic effects. EPURA coordinates links with relevant programs such as UnternehmerTUM, EIT Urban Mobility and Venture Lab Urban Mobility without creating start-up programs or teaching materials itself.

Who does it?

A motivated consortium of experienced partners from science, the public sector, business and society is working together in an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary manner on the pressing issues of our time.
