Tomorrow.Mobility & Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona (Nov. 24)

The Tomorrow.Mobility & Smart City Expo World Congress, on November 5 - 7, 2024, in Barcelona has impressively demonstrated this:
The ideas for the mobility of the future are here - innovative, diverse, revolutionary.
But one thing is clear: The pressure to act is growing, and now is the time to actively shape change.

With over 25,000 experts from all over the world, it became clear that there is a need for More optimism and courage to act - immediately. MCube was right in the middle of it all - networking, inspiring, future-oriented.

🎡 Our highlights:

Munich in action - At the central stand of Bavaria International the Bavarian mobility ecosystem was in top form:
MCube members from the Technical University of Munichthe City of Munichthe International Building Exhibition (IBA) Munich Metropolitan Regionthe Digital Hub Mobility, , TUM Venture Labs, Plan4Better, Haselhorst Associates Consulting and Bayern Innovativ GmbH.
Under the leadership of Johanna Wantzen (MCube), the stand quickly became a hotspot for international exchange - a place where shared visions for better mobility took shape.

Above the rooftops of Barcelona - Our side event "Bridging City Innovation Ecosystems", jointly organized with Urban Impact and the Digital Hub Mobility by UnternehmerTUMbrought together over 100 mobility pioneers from all over the world. In an inspiring atmosphere and with a keynote speech by Jaanika Merilo and moderation by Carolin Zimmer, Jonas Schorr and Simon HerzogBest practices were exchanged, networks established and impetus provided for sustainable, fair and economically strong mobility.
With the support of Berlin Partner for Business and Technology GmbH, Barcelona Innova Lab Mobility, Urban Tech Republic | Berlin TXL & Technical University of Munich.

Autonomous driving in public transport - A central theme: Shared Autonomous Vehicles (SAVs) as a solution for the first and last mile in cities.
Our colleague Nico Nachtigall took part in an international roundtable at which strategies, challenges and solutions from all over Europe were discussed.
One thing is clear: autonomous fleets offer enormous potential - but legal uncertainties and high implementation costs are currently still holding back many innovations.

MCube on Stage - A particular highlight was the presentation by our colleague Melanie Grötsch (City of Munich) on the issue: "How do we address underrepresentation and mobility poverty in sustainable change?"  In the panel discussion with Christiane Malina (City of Hasselt) and Claudia Falkinger, moderated by Naomi Lloydbecame impressively clear:
"We need better data for better decisions" - especially when it comes to mobility justice.

Thank you to everyone involved for a week full of inspiration, cooperation and future spirit.
Together we are shaping the urban transformation. 🌆🌱
