Curriculum vitae: Gerhard Kramer is Executive Vice President for Research and Innovation at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). He received his B.Sc. in 1991 and M.Sc. in 1992 in Electrical Engineering from the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada. In 1998 he was awarded a Dr. sc. techn. (Doctor of Technical Sciences) by the ETH Zurich. From 1998 to 2000, Gerhard Kramer worked at Endora Tech AG, Basel. From 2000 to 2008 he worked at the Math Center, Bell Labs in Murray Hill/New Jersey. From 2009 to 2010, he was Professor of Electrical Engineering at USC, Los Angeles, CA. He was appointed full professor of communications engineering at TUM in 2010.
Gerhard Kramer is an IEEE Fellow and a member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities. He has received several recognitions, including an Alexander von Humboldt Professorship and the Aaron D. Wyner Distinguished Service Award of the IEEE Information Theory Society.
