How mobility data & simulation make our cities truly liveable
AI, big data and digitalization are changing mobility - but how exactly is data making our cities more sustainable, fairer and more liveable?
Under the title "Data Moves Cities", the upcoming MCube Speaker Series is dedicated to this central question.
Data shows where and how people move around, where bottlenecks occur and where there are opportunities to improve mobility in a targeted manner. With the help of urban geodata, public transport and sharing data, urban processes can now be understood almost in real time.
Simulations and digital twins make it possible to visualize the impact of new bus routes, cycle paths or traffic calming measures - and help to make well-founded decisions for sustainable urban development.
But how do these tools help not only to visualize changes, but also to actually implement them in the city? Can digital twins make cities greener, fairer and more liveable?
Be there when we on 27.11.2025 at 6.30 pm discuss together how mobility data and simulations contribute to the transformation of our cities - and how data can be used to create real quality of life.

What is MOSAIQ?
Imagine something: There is more space for people. The streets have more trees and plants. Everyone can get around better. That's how your Schwabing-West district could be in the future. How would you like your district to be? We want to talk to you about it!
The project is called MOSAIQ. MOSAIQ is a research∙project. MOSAIQ means: Mobility and urban climate in the future city∙part. The Technical University of Munich is leading the project.
What is MOSAIQ about?
MOSAIQ wants to make the streets in the city∙part more beautiful. People should feel comfortable there. There should be more space. For meetings and plants, for example. You can help decide what is tried out in the Stadt∙teil. The ideas come from you. Some ideas will be tried out on the streets for a certain period of time.
The aim of MOSAIQ is to make urban districts good places to live.
At the same time, the climate in the city should improve. And people should be able to move around the city easily.
What is happening in the district?
