Declaration on accessibility

Commitment to accessibility
The Munich Cluster for the Future of Mobility in Metropolitan Regions (MCube) is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continuously working to improve user-friendliness for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards.

Conformity status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) set out requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. There are three levels of conformance: A, AA and AAA.
We aim to make all pages and content on mcube-cluster.de at least level AA accessible. Some areas do not yet fully meet the highest standards - this is mainly due to the need to evaluate and implement technical solutions.

Exceptions for reasons of economic reasonableness
Some barriers on our website cannot be removed in the short term for reasons of economic reasonableness. These include:

  • Complex interactive applications
Certain special applications (e.g. simulations or gamification modules) require considerable financial and human resources to make them fully accessible. We are constantly reviewing opportunities for improvement, but cannot remove all barriers immediately due to the high costs involved.
    Affected functions:

    • 3D simulation "Smart City Playground"

    • Interactive dashboard for real-time traffic visualization

  • Historical contents
Documents created before the current WCAG guidelines came into force, e.g. PDFs from 2018, may not fully comply with today's requirements. Subsequent revision would involve a disproportionate amount of effort. New publications will of course be prepared barrier-free according to the current status.

Further accessibility measures

  • We use semantic HTML and ARIA attributes to provide optimum support for screen readers.

  • Videos on our site are offered with subtitles and transcripts.

  • PDF documents are tagged and bookmarked where possible.

  • Images and graphics are given meaningful alternative texts.

What is MOSAIQ?
Imagine something: There is more space for people. The streets have more trees and plants. Everyone can get around better. That's how your Schwabing-West district could be in the future. How would you like your district to be? We want to talk to you about it!

The project is called MOSAIQ. MOSAIQ is a research∙project. MOSAIQ means: Mobility and urban climate in the future city∙part. The Technical University of Munich is leading the project.

What is MOSAIQ about?
MOSAIQ wants to make the streets in the city∙part more beautiful. People should feel comfortable there. There should be more space. For meetings and plants, for example. You can help decide what is tried out in the Stadt∙teil. The ideas come from you. Some ideas will be tried out on the streets for a certain period of time.
The aim of MOSAIQ is to make urban districts good places to live.
At the same time, the climate in the city should improve. And people should be able to move around the city easily.

What is happening in the district?

  • In the year 2025:
The people in the district can participate. They can express their ideas. There are discussions, surveys and meetings. Researchers are also starting their work.
  • In the year 2026:
    Some ideas are tried out.
They are moved around the streets for a certain period of time.
  • In the year 2027:
    The results are evaluated.
Consideration is given to how things can continue∙.
