Participate, Shape, Decide? A House of Commons Debate on Urban and Mobility Development at the Munich Urban Colab
Wem gehört die Straße? Wer entscheidet, wie unsere Stadt wächst und sich verändert? Wie viel Mitsprache braucht gute Stadtplanung – und wie viel verträgt sie?
Diese und weitere Fragen möchten wir gemeinsam mit euch diskutieren – offen, kontrovers und respektvoll. Dazu laden wir euch herzlich zu unserer Veranstaltung im Format der Unterhausdebatte ins Munich Urban Colab ein.
Im Mittelpunkt stehen aktuelle Beispiele aus München: von der Neugestaltung des öffentlichen Raums über Fragen der Verkehrsberuhigung bis hin zur demokratischen Mitbestimmung bei Stadtentwicklungsprojekten. Expertinnen und Experten aus Forschung, Stadtplanung und Praxis diskutieren aktiv mit – und nehmen genauso Stellung wie ihr.
Das Format: Was ist eine Unterhausdebatte?
Die Unterhausdebatte ist ein lebendiges Diskussionsformat, inspiriert vom britischen House of Commons – dem Unterhaus des britischen Parlaments. Dort sitzen Befürworter und Gegner einer Position buchstäblich auf verschiedenen Seiten des Saals und debattieren direkt miteinander. Dieses Prinzip machen wir für euch erlebbar.
So funktioniert es:
Das Format macht unterschiedliche Meinungen sichtbar, fördert echten Dialog und zeigt, wo Konsens möglich ist – und wo nicht. Es richtet sich an alle: ob Fachpublikum oder interessierte Bürgerinnen und Bürger, ob erfahren in der Stadtpolitik oder zum ersten Mal dabei.

What is MOSAIQ?
Imagine something: There is more space for people. The streets have more trees and plants. Everyone can get around better. That's how your Schwabing-West district could be in the future. How would you like your district to be? We want to talk to you about it!
The project is called MOSAIQ. MOSAIQ is a research∙project. MOSAIQ means: Mobility and urban climate in the future city∙part. The Technical University of Munich is leading the project.
What is MOSAIQ about?
MOSAIQ wants to make the streets in the city∙part more beautiful. People should feel comfortable there. There should be more space. For meetings and plants, for example. You can help decide what is tried out in the Stadt∙teil. The ideas come from you. Some ideas will be tried out on the streets for a certain period of time.
The aim of MOSAIQ is to make urban districts good places to live.
At the same time, the climate in the city should improve. And people should be able to move around the city easily.
